Let me share some beach weddings where I performed as the Wedding Celebrant around Wategos Beach and the Lighthouse, Byron Bay ...

Wategos Beach Elopement - Byron Bay - Darren & Alicia

The Champagne Celebrants Cape Byron Wedding Photo AlbumDarren Alicia elopement by the Champagne CelebrantNeed wedding guests? Just scoot down to Wategos in your wedding gear, stand side by side and act romantically.
Within minutes of starting this elopement ceremony the crowd in the background were applauding every move. Darren & Alicia soaked it in and just went with the flow in their laid back manner. It was as if it was all pre-planned and well-rehearsed.
The tide and the rain clouds closed in just as the last hoorah echoed back off the waves and we all grabbed whatever was close and raced for the car park.

Gorgeous couple, magic vibe and what a beach - Wategos.

Wategos Beach Wedding - Byron Bay - Jason & Lynn

The Champagne Celebrants Cape Byron Wedding Photo AlbumJason & Lynn beach wedding by Champagne Celebrant Byron BayThe thick English accents left no doubt where Lynn’s family hailed from. Jason had his boys to keep him company. While the last minute preparations were under way.
The darkening skies elevated the sense of urgency to get on with the show.

Just as Lynn stepped out of the Kombi she was welcomed with spots of rain. Nothing was going to stop Lynn from heading straight for Jason though and within moments they were united. Big smiles and plenty of hugs seemed to call a halt to the rain.

So much emotion followed especially with the vows.

Then the heavens opened up just as Jason and Lynn were pronounced Mr and Mrs.

Yes, luck is definitely on their side..

Here comes the Sun - Cape Byron Lighthouse Wedding - Krill & Sally

Krill & Sally wedding by Champagne Celebrant Cape Byron LighthouseNothing like greeting the rising sun by saying your marriage vows on the cliffs of Australia’s most Easterly point.

The yellow rays sliced through the salty mist giving the cliffs that golden grandeur.

Quite a spectacular place to launch into married life even for such a well-travelled couple. Krill and Sally gave their small band of friends plenty to talk about for years to come with a very intimate and jovial ceremony.

Surrounded by nature and a massive Pacific backdrop, it was impossible not to feel the enormity and emotion of the moment.

Cheers to Krill, Sally and their two little ones.

Wategos Beach Wedding - Byron Bay - Kane & Shae

Kane Shae Wedding by Champagne Celebrant Wategos Beach Byron BayThe Champagne Celebrant Byron Bay Wedding AlbumHow to make a statement at Australia’s premium beach: -
Engage ‘Beautiful Beach Weddings’ to erect a stunning wedding setup with wow factor, make sure your wedding guests dress in style and arrive really early, get your mum to yell ‘MY DAUGHTER IS GETTING MARRIED!!!’ at the top of her voice as she piles out of the limo and have a bevy of photographers and videographers milling around. Bright sunshine, iridescent turquoise water and peeling waves in the background all help too.
The topper is a drop dead gorgeous bride with a beaming smile escorted by bridesmaids to match. Even without the fun ceremony and wedding guests with a sense of humour, the statement has been made.
Kane & Shea your love story was truly stated on the sands of Wategos to the sounds of roaring surf and joyous laughter.

Wategos Beach Wedding - Byron Bay - Aaron & Amy

Champagne Celebrant Byron Bay Wedding AlbumAaron Amy wedding by Champagne Celebrant Byron BayLove was in the air. The scene was set. Byron turned it on once again and it was spectacular The place was buzzing, there was going to be a wedding and Wategos was it. Ten years in the making and what a pleasure to be a part of it. Amy was breath taking accompanied by those gorgeous bridesmaids. Yay, Brooke & Carly. Hot Diggedy Dog dresses! The groom and his sidekicks weren't to shabby either. They cut fine figures without a doubt. The moment was here and in she walked, like something out of a movie. It couldn't have been more perfect. As Amy arrived, her man raised his sunglasses revealed one love struck groom.  They only had eyes for each other. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house when their heartfelt vows were read out. Aaron and Amy, you make my job the best in the world. Gaz and I were honoured to be a part of your truly beautiful day. Ching Ching to you, Mr & Mrs Balbi. XO

Wategos Beach Wedding - Byron Bay - Adrian & Nicole

Champagne Celebrants Byon Bay Wedding AlbumAdrian Nicole marriage by Champagne Celebrant Byron BayA stretch red Combie, a sunny spring afternoon at Wategos Beach, your best friends and family waiting in anticipation and the love of your life waiting to pop a wedding ring on your finger. What more could a girl wish for?

Nicole didn't look like she had any doubts at all when she stepped out of the Combie with flower girl/daughter Savannah and her two gorgeous bridesmaids. You couldn't have wiped the smile off Adrian's face when he caught a glimpse of Nicole advancing towards the sand.

A small but intimate crowd of wedding guests, mostly from South Australia, were treated to a blustery golden afternoon of fresh salt air and the sound of roaring surf in the background.

Savannah was also indulged with a sand ceremony to make her feel a part of marriage. What a wonderful ritual.

It was so touching to see a couple so in love like Adrian and Nicole and I hope their memories of the afternoon linger for a lifetime.

Wategos Beach Wedding - Byron Bay - David & Kaylene

David Kaylene Byron Bay Wedding by Champagne CelebrantQuick, quick, before the heavens open up. Everyone was looking skyward. The bride was on her way but so was the rain.

The bridal Jag glided into Wategos right on time with Kaylene and her equally stunning bridesmaids. Wategos beach never lets you down with its picture perfect background whatever the weather.

For David & Kaylene the threatening skies were immaterial. These love birds were on a high and were only interested in stealing kisses and enjoying their ceremony.

Next it was sealed with a kiss or maybe three. Stunning Kaylene and handsome Dave made for a photogenic couple.

Eager and excited guests were ready with their champagne flutes to pop the corks and get celebrations underway.

Wategos Beach Wedding - Byron Bay - Steve & Melinda

Champagne Celebrants Wategos Beach Wedding Photo Album Steve & Melinda Byron Bay wedding with the Champagne CelebrantHow exciting! Running off to Byron with your lover and your closest nearest and dearest to secretly tie the knot. This romantic ceremony took place in beautiful Wategos with a handful of keyed up onlookers. Not only was the tide threatening but a few overhead dark and gloomies were in sight. A slight spray fell on us early and was all but over in no time. Mel looked stunning as she waltzed toward an eagerly awaiting Steve holding their precious little Luca. Love was in the air and it could felt by each and every one of us. It couldn't have been more perfect. Celebrating with only the best champers, the good ol' Moet. Yes we all love it! Then it was on to Raes on Wategos for canapés, more champagne and celebration! Such a pleasure to be part of a wonderful occasion with this romantic couple and their fabulous friends.

Wategos Beach Wedding - Byron Bay - Hamish & Kristie

Hamish Kristie Wedding by the Champagne Celebrant Byron Bay The Champagne Celebrants Byron Bay Wedding Photo AlbumFab time of year for a wedding. Perfection! The scene was set with the wind softly willowing through the satin flags and the sea grass matting aisle looking a little empty without a bride. The warmth of the late winter sun was not the only thing glowing. Hamish couldn't contain himself and was smiling from ear to ear in anticipation.

A glimpse of bridesmaids is burnt orange dresses beside the limo signaled that it was wedding on. Kristie beamed elegance in a stunning ivory gown - breathtaking to say the least.

The long walk to Hamish was so romantic. With the procession accompanied by Jake on guitar, it was hard to hold back the tears for close friends and relatives.

Once the kissing stopped, Hamish & Kristie only had eyes for each other. Completely oblivious to what was going on around them. Their intimacy was contagious. It's moments like these that make you want to redo your own vows. The ceremony was just about them, just as it should be.

Cape Byron Lighthouse Wedding - Ants & Hannah

The Champagne Celebrants Byron Bay Lighthouse Wedding Photo AlbumAnts & Hannah wedding by Champagne Celebrant Byron Bay LighthouseIt was nothing short of a picture perfect afternoon at Australia's most Easterly point. Winter magic at its North coast best.

Ants and Hannah wanted a dramatic backdrop for their wedding ceremony. The back was dramatic and the drop vast and steep.

The guests were there early and so was a throng of sightseers. Ants and Hannah only planned on 40 guests to witness their wedding but with the help of the 6m flags, the PA and the still conditions, the audience swelled to more than 100 rapt onlookers.

Hannah turned heads when she stepped out of the white Mini Cooper S. Minutes later she earned a few ah's when she fell into in Ants arms. The energy of the ocean, the sharing of Ants and Hannah's love story and the warmth of the late sun made for a very emotional ceremony.

The bride and groom couldn't wish for more. Neither could the guests, the spectators or the Celebrant.

Wategos Beach Wedding - Byron Bay - Ian & Madonna

Ian Madonna Byron Bay CelebrantNow I know where the expression 'when all hell breaks loose' comes from. It's when you are half way through your vows on the beach at Wategos and the rain hits so suddenly and so ferociously that everything and everyone is drenched in seconds.

12 people including Bride & Groom huddling under 6 umbrellas didn't rate as shelter. Even the heavens didn't let the bride and her gorgeous dress escape the flotsam of the storm!

Sodden but not beaten, the show had to go on. Everyone took a beeline into Rae's restaurant at Wategos, dusted themselves off to enjoy a happy-ever-after ending to a fractured but beautiful Ceremony.

Toasting in style with English bubbly and exquisite canapés, Ian and Madonna set a new standard for battling against the storm. They will have vivid memories and plenty of wide eyed stories to tell their friends about their spectacular day at Wategos!

Wategos Beach Wedding - Byron Bay - Christian & Rachel

9 Blue Bridesmaids and the Celebrant Byron BayChristian and Rachel don't do things by halves. After only 1 year, these two free spirits cemented their relationship by proposing to each other. With a touch of style they gave each other matching topaz rings while the sun rose lazily over the surf at Wategos Beach. But this was not enough.
12 years later, the master of romance, proposed again. To make it really enchanting, he produced a breathtaking diamond at the bottom of a waterfall with roses and a champagne picnic basket.
Their wedding was no different. Of course, one bridesmaid would never do would it. Try 9. How about a regular ceremony? No way. Earth, Wind, Fire & Water featured large in a ceremony that screamed class. And who arranged for those whales to be doing party tricks in the background?

Family, friends and  a band of onlookers joined in the spirit of this unique wedding. A wedding that will live on in their memories for some time. This was a ceremony that everyone put a lot of effort into and it was so rewarding to see it pay off.

Only one small glitch. It must be the El Nino currents or something but this is the 2nd wedding this month where the bride has put the ring onto the wrong finger. It was champagne all round following the signing and a cheery party on the beach to complete the perfect afternoon

.Elopement - Wategos Beach - Byron Bay - Mark & Gabrielle

Mark and Gabrielle Byron Bay ElopementIt was a ray of sunshine meeting such a beautiful down to earth couple. Nothing was even remotely near a drama for Mark and Gabrielle. They just took everything in their stride as the minutes until their wedding marched on.

We had met an hour earlier to finalise paperwork and make any last minute adjustments to the ceremony. They were keeping their elopement a complete secret from family and friends so that was distraction enough.

Just Mark, Gabrielle, the Celebrant and the Celebrant's roadie. The rain subsided, the wind calmed, the fragrance of marinated fish wafted from the BBQ's and the dolphins were jumping clear out of the waves as in tribute to the love being expressed.

Mark and Gabrielle brought sand from not only Byron beaches but from their home beach at Coolum for their sand ceremony.

The blending of their families was a high priority and a high point in the ceremony. Best of wishes to this amazing couple and what a surprise for family and friends when they return home as newlyweds.

Elopement - Wategos Beach - Byron Bay - Nathan & Tracey

Nathan Tracey and Elopment at Byron BayWedding photos soon. Wategos is exceptional and provides a beautiful setting for an outdoor ceremony.

This photogenic couple took full advantage and enjoyed the opportunity to click their way into a stunning memory of their special day.

Even though the weather was a constant threat, they persisted with their quest for a surfside ceremony and will ever appreciate their determination.

The bride and groom took pleasure in the sincerity of their ceremony and the intensity of their vows was especially touching.

Nathan and Tracey enjoyed the rest of their honeymoon weekend at Byron Bay and I doubt the torrential rain could have cooled their ardour.
