Figtree a place that always sets the scene. Such perfection, such attention to detail. A wonderful wedding feeling. Joel, the groom, calmly mixing with his guests like he'd done it all before. No sooner where we contemplating popping a cork when we have word the bride is five away! To the tunes of Jack Johnson the gorgeous bride arrives. Bridesmaids in rich watermelon and looking glam followed by Hayley in white full length. The ceremony went off without a hitch, like it had been rehearsed a hundred times. Perfect. The skies above also held off and not a drop was shed. Well maybe one or two from the loved ones in the crowd so overcome. Ching, ching to the handsome couple Joel and Hayley.

Chris is one of those guys with loads of self confidence and charisma. You would think he had been doing the Groom thing before as he calmly directed and took everything in his long stride.
For some reason the guests hung back from the area where the ceremony was being held and seemed to have forgotten why they where there. Then there was a rustle in the bushes and the photographer popped out saying the bride was just around the corner. A hurried move towards the seating under the massive fig tree with all heads turned in the direction of where they thought the bride was hiding. No-one was disappointed when Cass followed her Bridesmaids through the gap in the bushes and along the rose petal strewn trail. The bridal walk was not uneventful though when 2yo Rose, raced into her mother's arms. It seemed that Rose liked centre stage and wasn't in any rush to miss out. Quite the actress and much to her loving parent's glee, she managed to add that special touch to the ceremony.
Chris and Cass looked as happy as can be with their union and though Rose will not understand the special part she played for some time, it was very heartwarming to see such a close knit family unit.
You could feel the tension as the minutes ticked by. The rose petal heart was looking very empty. No-one dared step into that sacred space. There was still no stirring in the direction of the restaurant. What could she be doing in there?
Ritchie, her husband–to-be and the large gathering of family and friends were starting to shuffle and reduce their previous discussions to short bursts of small talk. Was she just being pampered by the bridesmaids or were they swapping last minute recipes? Oh well, you can't be a bride every day. Might as well take your time and lap it up.
Then "she's on the way" cooled the anxiety and Louise stepped out into the sunshine. Wow. Gorgeous and some. The crowd was quiet. Even the babies calmed down while Louise took everyone's breath away as she glided to the rose petal heart to be united with Ritchie. The click, click, click of cameras and the blinking of flashes was the only distraction from a beautiful ceremony followed by the popping of corks and the clink of champagne flutes.
Another dream comes true on a late Byron summer afternoon. Such a special treat to celebrate with a large gathering of close family and friends.
A beautiful clear sun filled sky with a cooling breeze pushing up the hill from nearby Byron Bay, what more could you wish for on your day of days. Such a relief for everyone after all the moody summer weather.
Juggling Plan A versus Plan B with guests heading in all directions didn't stand a chance this time. Everything ran by the book with the Bride cruising in on time with lots of roses and bridal party support.
This ceremony progressed like it had been rehearsed for weeks, not just on the day before. It was so touching to hear how Warren met Vanessa at a concert and broke the ice with the offer of a Chuppa Chup.
It must have worked a treat because he also offered one when he proposed! This might have had something to do with the array of watermelon flavoured Chuppa Chups around the reception tables.
It wasn't hard to see
why Paul chose the 2nd Tee to tie the knot. What a back drop. Talk
about verdant pastures green. Then to top it off the bride glides in
with her bridesmaid and parents in golf carts decorated in balloons
and streamers.
There was a fair gale puffing but the sun was shining and everyone was ready for an entertaining afternoon. I won't blow anyone's cover but the ceremony jumped from laughter to tears on a few occasions when expressions of genuine love were made. Then Lisa mixed left from right when she was saying her ring vows and pushed Paul's ring onto the wrong finger. Everyone was rolling around by the time Arty (Paul's BIG brother and best man) couldn't pull the ring off! There was all sorts of advice (which can't be repeated here) but it will be a moment to remember for everyone present.
The rest of the ceremony went off without a hitch and Simone read a beautiful poem about called 'This is love'. Many of the guests were from Moree and Sydney and had a lot of catching up to do. As soon as the ceremony finished the crowd evaporated quickly and regrouped at the Country Club for an evening of joyous eating, drinking and dancing into the night.
Wow what a ceremony, what a pad! Sometimes horrid weather can work in your favour. It was panic stations. The rain kept up it's pace well into the wedding day. When everything is looking grim real friends come to the rescue.
James & Mira not only volunteered their palatial pad at the eleventh hour but James punched out a homemade song written especially for the Bride & Groom together with accompaniment on the ukulele.
Chester & Claudia didn't have to convince anyone about their feelings for each other. They just spoke from the heart and their love showed through. The guests were engaged and full of congratulations.
The sand ceremony was an important inclusion to involve their children Harry, Lilly and Nina. To Chester and Claudia the wedding day was also the formalising the uniting of them and their children into a family unit. The sand filled glass brick is going to feature as a centre piece in the wall of their home when Chester recovers from the celebrations.
